America and Pentecost 2010 Gary Kelly, May 10, 2010

"But I will be at Ephesus till Pentecost; For a great and important door there is open to me, and there are a number of people against me." (1 Corinthians 16:8-9 BBE)

The "fruit" is questionable from last year's piece, "The Promise: The Antidote for Progressive Political Correctness?"[1]. To confront the impending demise of "progressives," still requires widespread individual civility. This demands personal accountability, responsibility, and a commitment to protect the Republic to ensure future generations can enjoy the American Way of Life. The restoration of America's Christian Heritage is a return to the sure foundation of the Biblical moral virtue expressed by those who established the Republic.

If "progressives" are allowed to continue to violate the boundaries of "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God [2]," which is America's basic premise, it will because of a complacent Christian majority. Who will our descendants hold accountable? Those who pursued an anti-Christian Marxism or those who were duped by the out of context fallacy of "do not judge."[3]

He that has ears to hear, let him hear.

"While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept." (Matthew 25:5)

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be KNOWN of God is manifest in them; for God has shown it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened." (Romans 1:16-21)

While many rightfully refer to the Scripture above to reveal the motives of those with "reprobate minds" how many who profess Christianity, "KNOW" God? How many will hear: "I never knew you" (Matthew 7:23). "And THIS is eternal life, that they might KNOW You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." (John 17:3)

Many weddings have a reading of the "love chapter," and with marriage, the "mystery of the church" (Ephesians 5), is an important aspect of this reading overlooked? "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I KNOW in part; but then shall I KNOW even as also I am KNOWN." (1 Corinthians 13:12)

As in the relationship of "one man and one woman," where the "two shall become one flesh" (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:5), Christ the Groom, and His Bride church, are to be one (Matthew 25, Ephesians 5, Revelation 21). "I in them, and You in me, that they may be made perfect in one…" Jesus, in His prayer to the Father (John 17:23) as He promised: "If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither KNOWS him: but ye KNOW him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." (John 14:15-18)

When Jesus talked about being "Born Again," it was not just a catch phrase. "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." (John 3:6) Christ had been with His disciples approximately 3 years, yet He said this: "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. (John 16:12-14)

"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever." (1 Peter 1:23) This from Peter, who denied Christ three times, yet after Pentecost, it was said of he and John: "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus." (Acts 4:13)

"It is the spirit that quickens; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."(John 6:63)

"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:7) "And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost." (John 20:22) Which they did at Pentecost. [4]

"But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him. But God has revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man KNOWS the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God KNOWS no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might KNOW the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he KNOW them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who has KNOWN the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:9-16)
