Is It Really Hate Speech – Or Just Speech That You Hate by Michael Bresciani, November 6, 2014
Across the spectrum journalists and writers are besieged by the so called “politically correct” crowd when it comes to the hot button issues. Homosexuality, abortion, “same sex marriage” and immigration are at the top of the list.
Top journalist Matt Barber posted a recent article entitled “LGBT’: The ‘T’ is for Tyranny” about Houston Mayor Annise Parker who subpoenaed the sermons of Houston pastors. The subpoenas have since been dropped, but the attempt to squash free speech leaves a lingering foul odor in the air that first amendment America can still smell across the land.
An honest and careful perusal of Barber’s article reveals that mis-use of power is the subject. Barber makes it clear that not only has first amendment been breached, but it has become the agenda of the Democratic Party to suspend free speech especially as it pertains to the LGBT’s agenda.
Shortly after the article was posted someone on a social media said - “Reported as hate speech.”
To whom was this reported? Is there a hate speech police organization like Interpol or the FBI? What is hate speech? If I don’t like Mickey Mouse does Disneyworld have a branch where they send my disgust with the little mouse to, and have me investigated? How far can we carry this foolishness against one of the most powerful freedom agents ever given to man in the modern world – the First Amendment?
Going over Barber’s piece several more times I came to a general conclusion. The person who posted on the social media could only hate the article and the truth found in it. Secondly, it seemed reasonable to think that they probably hated the author of the article as well. Ah-ha, a hate speech watcher caught red handed – hating. What to do?
Do we now need hate speech police, for those accusing others of hate speech? Nonsense mocks itself; it does not need our help!
Rational people know that PC is a prop, a well-designed set and a piece of finely executed ersatz in the theatre of liberalism, godlessness and general fiction. With a little imagination and suspension of reality you can see yourself in New York, Paris or the jungles of Borneo, but when you leave the theatre you are supposed to wake up and go back into reality. Proponents of today’s PC have gone beyond theatre in that they expect us not to completely wake up after leaving the theatre.
Did Shakespeare have modern man and his PC proclivities in mind when he said “This life, which had been the tomb of his virtue and of his honour, is but a walking shadow; a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing?”
The Stringent and far More Severe Biblical View of Hate
It is here we must embark on a brief journey through the biblical teachings on the subject of hate. It should clear out a lot of the smoke and reveal that the worldview of hatred and the scriptural teachings are, well – a world apart.
To start with we must state the obvious – Jesus Christ does not allow hatred among his followers. Take a look.
“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” (Mt 5: 43-44)
Christ may hate certain deeds that men do, but the very nature of Divinity is that God cannot hate people; they are the work of his own hands. Don’t jump to the conclusion that I am saying he will not judge our sins.
An example of this distinction between the sinner and the sin is found in the famed book of Revelation. In the first century church of Ephesus, was a group of people known as the Nicolaitanes. They have sometimes been called the ‘body snatchers’ because their licentiousness was well known and they convinced some of the weaker members of the church to leave the church and go with them into their carnal ways.
When Christ addressed them in Revelation chapter two, he stated that he hated their deeds, but did not so much as intimate that he hated them. This is our example even today.
“But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.” (Rev 2: 6)
God is unchangeable, he still hates our wicked deeds, but he does not hate us!
‘Political Correctness’ pop culture’s satanic tool to popularize wickedness and silence those who do not agree
PC is the world’s way of developing a moral guide for those who have rejected the guidance of God. It is largely based on what we say, not what we do. If you choose to say a behavior is wrong – you are wrong.
It is in keeping with the last day’s prophecies that clearly warn that men will become lawless and wholly recalcitrant just before the emergence of the antichrist. He is called the lawless one in one version and he typifies all that is wrong with modernity. He suspends all the laws as they were once known and begins a new course for all mankind based on only his own whims and personal view of the world.
Others have tried it, Antiochus, Nero, Hitler, Stalin and more, but antichrist succeeds in a way others could not. He is empowered by the god of this world (Satan) and even though his time is short he goes forth with such fury as to completely catch the world off guard. (Da 11: 44)
He knows what the bible says, he knows what the preachers and witnesses say and he has no intention of letting that get in his way. At first (as in today) he will attack, squelch and deny the speech of the righteous voices, but in the last hours of his reign he will eliminate the speakers altogether. (Rev 6: 9-11)
Modernity’s mis-perception of time – the costliest mistake of all time
For the last 25 years I have studied both the philosophy of uniformitarianism, the science of homeostasis and the wild billions of year’s long prior philosophic postulations of evolutionary projections.
I have come to the reasonable conclusion that man does not have a clue about time and what it means to civilization.
I have always loved independent research to augment my studies of the scripture, but in the end it turns out that the real definition of time is found in the bible. Here is a short summary.
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” (2 Pet 3: 8-10)
This is what God says about time – you don’t have much!
It follows that fallen man would come up with a conclusion that is completely opposite of God’s. Uniformitarianism, evolution and general ignorance of the word of God cause man to come to this seriously erroneous conclusion. It is an error that is at the very heart of uniformitarianism and it is blindly believed at the cost of eternal life for many.
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” (2 Pet 3: 3-4)
In the last day ‘political correctness will judge nothing – the real Judge looks much deeper
To be impartial is becoming a rarity in our PC world. In fact, all PC is based on partiality. If you favor the introduction of same sex marriage you are urged to come against all voices that do not agree. Calling those who disagree ‘haters’ is about all you’ve got. To say they are wrong is purely subjective and if they are depending on a biblical worldview of marriage, it is an absurdity to presume that modern man is wiser than God.
God is no fool, but if only figuratively speaking he was, we have this.
“Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men” (1 Co 1: 25)
It is the judging of a motive which is about as subjective as it gets. We have no clue about motives, even our own, it is God who searches the hearts of men for motives. (Jer 17: 10)
The bottom line is easy. Men will not be judged by the superficiality and purely extraneous, arbitrary and mis-guided application of ‘political correctness’ – they will be scrutinized by eyes that can see through us like we were all made of glass – which we are.
“For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.” (Mr 4: 22)
Why PC is just more last day’s perversion – telling the truth is never motivated by hatred
Every time a parent will not allow a child to do something detrimental to their wellbeing and every time we give our children good advice based on what we know will hurt them, it is never called hatred.
Every time an oath is engaged to force men to tell the truth in a court preceding it is never labeled as an act of hatred.
In fact, virtually nothing is considered hatred that leads to the welfare of any citizen in this nation – except as it pertains to those who do not want to hear a truth that disagrees with their own pet perversion or personal view of what is right and wrong in a universal sense.
Labeling truth tellers as ‘haters’ is a device for those devoid of any recourse and who have become judges of those they insist are judging.
This silly penchant for PC will probably continue until the very last day of time and in fact is part of what leads us to that day. Should we be labeled as ‘hater’ we must remember that they hated our Lord long before they hated us. As to passing off their own guilt; it is the greatest example of psychological transference to ever come down the pike.
PC is a farce under cover of a false face used to accuse truth tellers of being some pretty bad dudes.
PC judges are themselves haters hiding behind the hatred they have for the God of truth.
“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.” (Jn 15: 18-19)
Feeling hated, or accused of hatred for telling the truth? You are in good company!
