The Steady Slide of Family Values: How low can we go? by Terrance Scott, August 4, 2017

desnudas-in-NY-City-1.jpgIn the book of 2 Timothy, the Apostle Paul gives a lot of guidance for the present-day church, at times seeming somewhat prophetic. In chapter four he writes, For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passion, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths (2 Timothy 3-4 ESV).

We are in a period now where science, facts and truths are being abandoned for individuality. Paul gave us credit that we do not deserve because the beliefs people are trying to go to are cannot be even considered to be myths. It is becoming more important than ever to anchor family values in God’s Word. It is by doing this that we will not stray from his will.

In New York City, there is a new trend. For many this is not surprising because New York is often seen as a trend setting city. As in anything in society, not all trends are Godly trends or even good trends. The article, “Naked illegal alien panhandlers are turning Time Square into shocking anti-family zone” does a good job a shedding light on this latest trend.

Naked female panhandlers called “Desnudas” have begun to roam and patrol the area referred to as Time Square. Though the author of the piece I read on this did not address the purpose of this, it is not hard to imagine that it is probably not a moral enterprise. Naked women covered in only paint pose for pictures at time hugging men women and even children. If this was not bad enough there has been police complaints about verbal harassments and unwarranted physical contact.

It seems that the women do not always wait for the invitation of those willing, but at times walk up to people and start hugging them. When they do not receive financial compensation for their gropes they begin to verbally assault those who they encountered.

While naked females, walking the streets, groping people for tips may seem bad enough it does get worse. As one can imagine there has been numerous complaints to the police. The response by the police is very disheartening and shows just how low we have fallen as a society so far. The response from the police is, “There is nothing they can do because most of them are illegal aliens."

As organizations like the ACLU journey to rid our society of all things Godly, the objectivity on what is right and wrong is heavily falling to the wayside. Without a Godly foundation in our society, society will crumble. Psalms 127 says, “Unless the Lord builds the house those who build it labor in vain” (Psalms 127:1 ESV). A society that is built on anything but God will not stand. Whether everyone understands it or not the moral compass of the Lord is the only indicator that will keep us going in the right direction.

Where does it all end? When policeman will not arrest naked women roaming the street for tips, because they are in the country illegally, how much further can society slide into immorality?

Though the originator of this article is a conservative and be biased, that should not matter. This is something that all citizens should be concerned about. Now when we turn a blind eye to something, that occurrence becomes acceptable. There are children in Time Square that now think this is normal to see. It is so apparent, unless you stand for God, you will fall for anything.
