Time to challenge: Election 2012 - November 6 by Gary Kelly, Posted July 21, 2012
Since our elected officials are favoring “special interests” (I.E. campaign donors and supporters), let us begin to challenge individual voters, each other, family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. with that task of proving our personal foundations before Election 2012. Is it the Constitution as intended or the Constitution as Obama would like to edit. Is it “the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God,” or progressive political correctness, or live and let live, or “keep me out of it?” How will you answer your children and grandchildren after Election 2012? For foundational starters, I offer the Gospel of John Quiz for you and for you to share. Very simple, starting with question 1 of 27, read each question while reading through the Gospel of John, looking for an answer. Once you have an answer, read the next question, etc. (Have had positive responses from schools and church groups across the globe.) Note the foundation means to be Holy as He is Holy, and adhering to God’s “righteousness,” not how the world redefines righteousness. Note also, for those who have ears to hear, the foundation provides for being holy as He is holy. Then perhaps as did America’s Founders declared we may also declare: "Death is more eligible than slavery. A free-born people are not required by the religion of Jesus Christ to submit to tyranny, but may make use of such power as God has given them to recover and support their liberties..." (The men of Marlborough, Massachusetts who took part in the Boston Tea Party) "If there must be trouble, let it be in my day that my child may have peace." (Thomas Paine) “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” (Signers of the Declaration of Independence) Do “we” have what it takes to restore the America to its foundation or do “we” remain spectators and watch the American Dream become a Marxist nightmare? With President Obama promoting Marxism over capitalism, America’s military going gay, racial tensions being ignited, criminal acts becoming more violent, etc. it is time to challenge our status quo, you and me. If we choose to remain complacent and comfortable in our Facebook communities with “can’t fight city hall” attitudes, then it will be our children and grandchildren who will pay the price for being “we the sheeple” instead of “We the people.”
Once you have learned what this Gospel offers as a foundation, then perhaps you may also exhibit how Peter went from denying Christ to becoming emboldened in this foundation where Acts 4:13 declares: “Now when they (Sadducees, High Priest, and others) saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”
