Ask Seek Knock by Curtis Dahlgren, June 19, 2018

askseekknock.jpg"Hear us, Father, for all sorts and conditions of men. Make wars throughout the world to cease, and bring this poor little sin-cursed planet back into Thy bosom." - Today's Reflection, June 13th, day of the Korean summit, S.E. Asia time

"Don't believe in God? How hard have you been looking?" - Curtis Dahlgren

TRADITIONALISTS NEED TO BE OPEN ABOUT OUR FAITH, because the infidels certainly aren't shy about their hatred for religion. Their contempt is growing geometrically, although MSNBC found the 10 Commandments momentarily over illegal aliens and "Love thy neighbor."** Who are the infidels now? Here's your clue:

"While the infidels laughed at the very distinction between right and wrong, they championed themselves as the heroes of 'Justice'! It was soon discovered that the 'liberty' of infidels was not the Liberty of New England, and that [their nation], instead of being free, had merely exchanged one form of tyranny for another even worse . . .

"It has been said that man unrestrained by religion and law is a mere beast of prey. Infidelity has been formed into a regular school of thought that is plunging [this poor little sin-cursed world] into ruin . . .

"Two of their philosophers, independent of each other, declared that to establish their favorite political system, the sacrifice of the entire existing human race would be a cheap price to pay."

- President of Yale College, 1801 (paraphrased)

It sounds as if Dr. Dwight were describing America's possible fate, but in context he was talking about the French Revolution, one of the first great Rational Experiments in godlessness. The "experiment was poorly executed." Around the execution devices, blood ran ankle-deep. One thing leads to another when terror and anarchy commence, and Robespierre (one of "the first ones on the list") went to the guillotine himself after executing almost everybody but the executioner. As an indirect result, Napoleon's bloody wars followed. Finally of course, Napoleon himself ended up in disgrace. There must be a lesson in there somewhere.

Nothing is a disgrace today. There are no stigmas. Everything is a matter of politically correct or politically incorrect. If the media like you, they'll run interference for you, but who is the real "wicked King Louie" today - according to the press - the one doing his best to end the Korean War, or the one described as "without a soul" by infidels on TV? May the real Donald Trump please stand up.

Someone said, "If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got." Get it? Someone said, "Don't be in-different; be different!" Our President (if you accept that as fact) is trying something "different." The "old" diplomacy failed in part because the diplomats don't want world peace; it would be bad for their job security. They've been clinging bitterly to their "armistice" for over 60 years. BY THE WAY, this might be a good time to search for my old column, "Four diplomats walk into a bar."

P.S. My little daily "meditation books" were probably written in the Gay Nineties (the 1890s), and one of them recently said: "On all the roads we travel, may we have the same companionship that, on a funereal day on the road to Emmaus, turned it into one of laughter and joy. Smile on our feeble efforts and make them heaven-sent, bidden god-speed." On another recent day, one of my books read (paraphrased):

"Smile on our daily duties, Lord, and bid them god-speed, to the end that at the set of sun all may be well with our hearts, and we may be bidden by Thyself a kindly 'Good night'!"

PPS: That's talking about you. How well are you sleeping? You may be saying "Someone ought to DO something," but what are YOU doing? And if you haven't even found God yet, how hard are you really looking?

** The media aren't "reporting" news; they're encouraging the news. As for "the law of the land" on illegal border crossers, if the Left doesn't like the law, let them change it, but spare me the drama-stuff. God told Israel to be nice to strangers "among you," but He did NOT tell them to invite more into the Promised Land willy-nilly, nor did He encourage inter-marriage with the Philistines. There! That ought to stir something up, eh?
