My Prayer for my President by David Herbertson, December 20, 2017

Dear Lord--Today is July 2, 2017 and I want to ask you for a special prayer for my President Donald Trump. My prayer is that you will capture his heart and mind and help him to become the best President the United States has ever produced. Let the words found in Colossians 3:5-17 become so real in his life that he will use his God given strength to help bring revival to America. To help heal our land—to bring our families together again and become the strength of our nation---to build trust again in our institutions—and to help America once again to be a beacon of freedom and hope to the world. Amen

My country is divided and failing because of unbelief and disobedience. We need something to happen that will cause the people of this land to learn how to treat each other with respect and to obey the laws of our nation. It is clear to most people that what we are seeing is lawlessness and a breakdown of morals and disrespect for anyone that does not agree with their ideology and political labels. History shows us that this kind of breakdown will destroy a nation no matter how strong and prosperous they are.

I do not think that our Government or its leaders can reverse the downward spiral of bitterness and hatred that fills our airwaves today. The only hope for America and this world is a spiritual revival in the hearts and minds of individuals that causes people to learn how to exist in peace even as they lose elections.

I wrote recently in my prayer journal “The battle ground for peace is in my mind. I choose faith!”

Faith is the victory that overcomes the world.

I refuse to be discouraged. My God is the God of all hope.

Phil. 4:7 “And the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
